Among these processes, the batch process is the most common method used to dye textile materials. The kind of process used depends on many characteristics including type of material as such fiber, yarn, fabric, fabric construction and garment, as also the generic type of fiber, size of dye lots and quality requirements in the dyed fabric. Textile materials can be dyed using batch, continuous or semi-continuous processes. It is estimated that over 10,000 different dyes and pigments are used industrially and over 7 x 10 5 tons of synthetic dyes are annually produced worldwide. The most common auxochromes are amine, carboxyl, sulfonate and hydroxyl. In addition, electrons withdrawing or donating substituents so as to generate or intensify the color of the chromophores are denominated as auxochromes.
These chromophore-containing centers are based on diverse functional groups, such as azo, anthraquinone, methine, nitro, arilmethane, carbonyl and others. Dyes are classified according to their application and chemical structure, and are composed of a group of atoms known as chromophores, responsible for the dye color. The dyes can adhere to compatible surfaces by solution, by forming covalent bond or complexes with salts or metals, by physical adsorption or by mechanical retention. Such substances with considerable coloring capacity are widely employed in the textile, pharmaceutical, food, cosmetics, plastics, photographic and paper industries.
I am constantly challenging myself to find new ways to organize lessons and projects so that I am spending more quality time with students addressing deep individual needs and less time on common avoidable things that suck away real teaching moments.
I show them how to become aware of common thought patterns that get in their way and give them tricks to help them recognize and redirect their attention to help them succeed.
I teach them to learn to see like an artist and explain that this goes against our natural way of thinking. I stress self awareness and try to infuse humor into everything I do with my students. I am so grateful to be able to share my passion and my work with other teachers and help them in their classrooms. I love graphic design and the aesthetics of my materials are just as important to me as the content.
I use everything I create with my own classes and consistently update them to make them better, more attractive, and functional. This energy directly influences my students and our relationship in the classroom. At the end of the day I feel happy, energized, inspired, and fulfilled. I can focus on all the positive things that I love about art and teaching high school. Because of my resources I can give every single student the amount of attention they deserve and avoid the frustrations of the job that I have learned to anticipate. I created Inside out ART to help me spend my time in the classroom more efficiently Currently, I have very large diverse classes with multiple levels in one group. My name is Lauren and I have been teaching high school visual art for 20 years.
